Blueberry HappyBerry

Our Plantation

The HappyBerry plantation was created as a result of love for nature, health and fruits.

It was founded in 2015 by the Gruźlewski family. It is located in Lower Silesia, in the area of forest and fields, surrounded by dense woods on all sides. This warm and quiet place - away from roads and highways - creates optimal conditions for producing healthy fruits. We are also in the area of operation of the Local Activity Group “Wrzosowa Kraina”, which is acting for the sustainable and ecological development of the eastern part of Lower Silesia.

Daily taking care and good maintenance of the plantation is a big challenge. Our family and the whole The Happy Berry Team works hard with passion, devotion and joy, so the plantation gives us back wonderful and juicy fruits.

We cordially invite you to cooperation and to getting familiar with our offer.

About Blueberry

Blueberry -

(Vaccinium corymbosum), also called highbush blueberry, is a plant coming from the heather family. It was born in North America and gained her fame only in the 20th century, when its nutritional and taste advantages were finally highly appreciated. Currently it is grown in many countries of the world. Poland ranks third place, after the United States and Canada, among its global producers.

Its shrubs grow up to about 2.5 m in height, shoots are strongly branching. Fruits in our climate ripen from mid-June to the end of September and are similar in taste to forest berries, but are different in size (bigger) and they do not have dirty juice.

Blueberry is perfect for raw consumption and has a very good use as a dessert fruit. You can also freeze it perfectly without losing its properties or use it for all kinds of preserves and jams.

Offer

Our plantation has the following types of blueberries to offer: Duke, Chandler, Valor, Liberty and Aurora. Thanks to the variety of types, we have the opportunity to enjoy the fruit availability constantly from mid of June to the end of September.

Duke

early variety

It was introduced and developed into cultivation in New Jersey in 1985. This type is considered as the best early maturing variety. It blooms quite late, thanks to that fact it can avoid frosts season, and also has fruits quite early. The size of the fruit is big and its taste is very good. Fruits have aligned similar size. Pulp is compact, crunchy and greenish; fruits close to stalk are slightly flattened and are gathered in quite loose clusters. Blueberry 'Duke' skin is covered with medium intense suede air raid.

This is a quite young variety; fruiting in July, fruits medium-sized, crisp and very, very juicy, dry stalk scar. Powder-blue colour. This variety type is perfect for both: freezing and consumption immediately after picking;

Chandler

medium late variety

It was introduced for cultivation in North America in 1994. Fruits are available in the average from late July to early September. It is a long time fruiting variety and also one of the most recognisable blueberry varieties. Blueberry 'Chandler' is famous for its giant fruit (up to 2.5 cm in diameter!). The berries are extremely sweet and juicy, they are a perfect complement of a healthy and tasty breakfast.

Liberty

medium late variety

It was introduced into cultivation in 2003. It begins to ripen at the end of July (more precisely after Saint Anne, July 26th ), although the most fruits are harvested in August and in the first half of September. The fruit is moderately large and powdery blue in colour. It has an excellent firmness and taste! The berries have a small and dry stalk scar. The main advantage of this berry type over the others is that its fruits are sweeter and more aromatic than the other types.
